We had a fairly ambitious craft project planned, but they did a great job making kites. And later in the day when the wind picked up we all smiled to see kites in the air.
Back at the house site, they finished the front wall and were hard at work on the sloped side walls. Tomorrow we're doing something called "bag washing" to put a finish on the bricks. And we'll get to start the interior walls as well.
The kids near the house we're building live too far from the creche to come over for VBS, so we brought it to them. They made wind socks and colored with crayons for hours. Later in the day we realized that some of the kids who made multiple wind socks were taking extras home for younger siblings. They are such sweet kids.
After we cleaned up the work site we went back to the church soccer field for a soccer game. The South African boys are quite good, and clearly have practiced together a lot. Our team played well, and I think was excited to only lose by one goal.
