Safari day 1

Hello from Ndaka lodge in South Africa.  We've had a busy but very fun day.  We all enjoyed sleeping in a real bed after 28 hours of traveling, and most were tired enough to sleep pretty soundly in spite of the time difference.  We then drove inland from Durban to the Nambiti Game Reserve.  We were greeted by the very friendly lodge staff and pet warthog, Basil.  Basil was rescued by the former owners, who let him sit on couches and sleep in beds so he feels quite free to make himself right at home in any and all lodge buildings.  I'll upload a picture of mom petting him when I get my SD adapter back...

We were shown to our amazing "tents" which are really more like luxury cabins with some canvas walls.  Here's the one I'm sharing with two other girls on the trip:

We went on a sunset game drive and saw 3 male lions as well as too many zebra, wildebeest, elephants, and giraffes to count.

As you can see, it was quite beautiful.  We can't wait to get back out there tomorrow.  Also there are a lot of stars out here in the bush!

We spend tonight and tomorrow night here at Ndaka before heading back towards Durban & Shongweni on Sunday.  We start building the house on Monday morning in Shongweni.

We start early tomorrow so I should turn in.  Happy 4th of July!
